Oregon National Guard: WWII Heritage Program

Come hear stories about WWII and historical events that changed our world; Learn about Oregon’s involvement in the war; try on an authentic WWII uniform,  play with a “clicker” communication device, and other authentic and replica WWII items

Oregon National Guard: Lewis & Clark Heritage Program

Come hear stories of Lewis and Clark and the famous Expedition.  See a grizzly bear paw print, use a sextant, or try on a coat and hat.  The Discovery Box has exact replicas of items  taken on the expedition or encountered along the way.

Oregon Museum of Science & Industry – Science Festival!

Persons of all ages are invited to come and enjoy hands-on science activities and experiments;  Enjoy exhibits, complete with movable parts and live critters!

Kam Wah Chung & Co. Museum Program

Curator Christina Sweet from Oregon State Parks’ Kam Wah Chung & Co. Museum in John Day presents a lively program about this turn-of-the-last century  Chinatown apothecary, mercantile and opium den, complete with museum artifacts.

Snake River Chinese Massacre: A Most Daring Outrage

Historian/author R. Gregory Nokes will present a program about a relatively unknown part  of Eastern Oregon history: the 1887 massacre of 34 Chinese laborers  as they panned for gold along the Snake River.   Come and learn how the site has gained recent recognition as a  historic state site.
