Snake River Chinese Massacre: A Most Daring Outrage Historian/author R. Gregory Nokes will present a program about a relatively unknown part of Eastern Oregon history: the 1887 massacre of 34 Chinese laborers as they panned for gold along the Snake River. Come and learn how the site has gained recent recognition as a historic state site.
